Stanford Cleaning and Restoration History
Stanford Cleaning and Restoration was originally opened June 15, 1996 under the name Proclean in St. Johns County, FL with one van and truck mount in a little office on US1 south. There were two owners, Chuck Stanford and Curtis Blalock. After one year in business, Chuck bought Curtis Blalock’s half of the business and continued to build the business. Around 1998 Chuck’s wife Darcy Stanford got involved in the business. It was Darcy who decided to get her contractor’s license in 2001 for the company. Due to problems with another Proclean out of Jacksonville, FL and after 2 years in litigation, Darcy and Chuck decided to do a name change. In January 2004 the name was changed to Stanford Cleaning and Restoration. Then, in the latter part of 2009, Stanford Cleaning and Restoration became a licensed service provider for 1-800-BOARDUP, and an authorized Wellborn Cabinetry dealer, making the potential for the company growth limitless. It was at this point that it was determined the company needed to become a bit more resolved on it’s future destination, and that was in the re-construction industry, assisting people in their times of disaster. This is where the 2009 name change came into play as Stanford Restoration and Reconstruction. Though Stanford Restoration consistently and religiously cleans residential and commercial textiles, they wanted their image to mainly reflect disaster services, hence the new name. It was the vision of Chuck to take the company to where it is today and the hard work of all the employees involved.
